This school year, we have increased the visibility of Indigenous language and ways of being as a way to make connections to our place.  We have changed our assembly seating to a semi-circle to increase the sense of inclusion, we have classes beginning to write their own land acknowledgements, we have invited students to engage in activities to get them thinking about Canada's Indigenous people, we have art projects connected to place, and we have recognized what it is about this place that makes us grateful to be here.
