Comparing our Results
After spending the school year focused on helping students to develop their understanding of the history of Indigenous People and the local First Nation (Musqueam) to support student learning, we used the same questions from our student survey as one way to assess our progress.
The data below shows the response of students at the end of the 2023-2024 school year with data from the previous year, 2022-2023 in parentheses ( ).
As we look at the data below, we can see that our students have developed their Indigenous and First Nations understanding through both classroom and whole-school learning opportunities, with growth in three of the four areas surveyed. We have also observed that our students are able to speak and share with confidence what they have learned.
There is room for growth in all areas and we will continue to help our students connect to the land and its history through classroom and school-wide activities.
